How to make a pixel map

1. Choose a map: the world, a continent, the US states or counties, or a single country. There are 100+ maps and 90+ projections, from Natural Earth to a globe.
2. Pick a pixel shape (dot, square, hexagon or diamond), then its size and the gap between pixels.
3. Set the colors for the background, the pixels and their outline. With the fill tool you can paint single countries in their own color.
4. Export an SVG for design tools and print, a PNG for slides, or an interactive HTML map.

Is it free? Yes, and there's no signup.

How do I make a dotted world map? Dots are the default shape. For a finer dotted look, make them smaller and widen the gap.

Can I edit the map in Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape? Export SVG: every pixel is its own vector shape.
